Agassiz Village is proud to announce that Christina (Chris) Kaake has joined us as our new Camp Director!
Chris grew up at camp—both literally and figuratively—and discovered early on her passion for creating transformative experiences that empower youth and families. With over 20 years of experience in youth development and recreational programming, Chris has consistently demonstrated her ability to build meaningful relationships across the communities she serves. Her approach is rooted in outcome-based programming, always centering youth voices by incorporating their feedback alongside industry best practices to ensure impactful and inclusive experiences.
Before coming to Agassiz, Chris served as Director of Camp and Recreation at the Achievement Centers for Children, where she designed and implemented a robust staff training program, contributing to stronger staff retention and higher-quality experiences for campers. She also introduced new program activities, including adapted archery and campers’ choice time, and oversaw an increase in camper registrations of over 40 percent.
Chris’s prior roles include Director of Operations and Programming at Inspiration Hills Camp, where she expanded camper numbers by 54 percent and secured 100 percent staff retention in 2023, and Program Manager at Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland, where she oversaw the Highest Awards Program and led the redesign of civics and DEI programming, engaging youth across Ohio in meaningful leadership development.
Chris has also worked internationally as a Development Consultant for incredABLE in Northern Ireland, where she secured long-term funding for programs supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
A featured industry expert in Northeast Ohio Parent magazine and a trusted mentor to staff and youth alike, Chris is committed to creating inclusive, engaging, and impactful opportunities for all participants.
