• Gifts of Cash: The CARES Act allows taxpayers who take the standard deduction to make up to $300 of charitable contributions to qualified charities. Itemizers can deduct up to 100% of adjusted gross income. As of now, this only applies to 2020.
• Stock or Securities: Make a gift of stock or securities to Agassiz Village and avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation of your stock. Please call Lisa Carter, Executive Director, at 781-860-0200 ext.1006 to make your stock gift.
• Individual Retirement Account: If you or a family member are 70½ or older with an individual retirement account (IRA), you can make a tax-free gift to Agassiz Village directly from your IRA. This is called a qualified charitable distribution. Through the SECURE Act you can transfer any amount up to $100,000 per year directly to a qualified charitable organization without paying income tax on the distribution.
• Donor-Advised Funds: Give through your donor-advised fund to maximize your impact. Your fund sponsor handles all record-keeping, disbursements, and tax receipts.

SUMMER POSITIONS
The Youth Development Manager is responsible for delivering quality youth programs that meet the needs of the low-income youth Agassiz Village serves. The Youth Program Manager implements our summer sleepaway camp program and year-round youth empowerment program. The Youth Program Manager will assist the Camp Director (CD) to ensure that social and emotional learning is at the forefront of the summer camp program and develop ways for SEL to be further implemented into an overnight summer camp setting. In addition, the Youth Program Manager will support the evolution of Agassiz from a summer camp to a youth development organization through creation, implementation and growth of our year-round iTHRIVE program for teens. The Youth Program Manager is responsible for managing camper enrollment and registration, as well as recruitment into the year-round iTHRIVE program. This is a hybrid position. You will be required to work from our Poland, ME offices as well as work from home in the off-season and in the summer must reside at camp in Poland, ME (private housing provided). Some travel to the Greater Boston area is required to deliver the year-round iTHRIVE program.
The Agassiz Village Cabin Counselor is responsible for ensuring overall camper well-being, keeping a cabin group of 12 campers (ages vary from 8-16) on schedule with activities, and leading camp activities. A counselor’s work includes assisting with camper management during activities, in cabins, on sports fields, at the waterfront and in the dining hall. Counselors may lead daily activities, like crafts, outdoor games, musical performances, and may perform other responsibilities. Counselors supervise and manage campers at all times, except during scheduled breaks. Counselors participate in whole camp activities and special events such as talent shows, and camp competitions. Counselors also accompany youth on overnight trips to one of our islands. The Cabin Counselor is responsible for helping to implement Agassiz Village Social & Emotional Learning curriculum by setting a positive example for kids. Counselors set the tone of the cabin, create the cabin rules with youth, correct inappropriate behavior, and ensure personal grooming, cabin clean up, bedtime routines are happening. Counselors are the ambassadors of fun, while following all safety rules and regulations.
The Director of Camper Care is responsible for supporting the mental, emotional, and social well-being of all campers ages 8-17. This staff member will serve as a critical component of our Camper Care Team and guide Agassiz Village in creating an environment that’s welcoming for all.
EMT
The Agassiz Village Health Center EMT works closely with the Camp Nurses to ensure effective daily operations of the Camp’s Health Center and health and wellness of Agassiz Village campers and staff. Health Center Staff also ensures compliance with state and federal laws and American Camp Association (ACA) standard requirements.
The Agassiz Village (AV) Village Leader (VL) is directly responsible for overseeing all aspects of the cabin life within the ‘village’ and is accountable for the final outcomes of the ‘village’. The Village Leader is responsible for ensuring that campers and cabin counselors participate in the AV programs and activities in a safe and supportive environment. The Village Leader directly supervises 10 counselors and 60 campers ages 8-14 to ensure program scheduling, conflict resolution, behavior management, motivation, health and well-being of campers and staff in the village.
The Agassiz Village (AV) Assistant Village Leader (AVL) supports the Village Leader in overseeing all aspects of the cabin life within the ‘village’ and is accountable for the final outcomes of the ‘village’. The AVL along with the Village Leader is responsible for ensuring that campers and cabin counselors participate in the AV programs and activities in a safe and supportive environment. The AVL supports the Village Leader in directly supervising 10 counselors and 60 campers ages 8-14 to ensure program scheduling, conflict resolution, behavior management, motivation, health and well-being of campers and staff in the village. The VAVL also ensures that campers’ needs and issues are managed while also ensuring that staff engagement with campers is appropriate and consistent with AV mission and policies and procedures.
The Agassiz Village Waterfront Director is responsible for supervising a team of 6-7 lifeguards, and 150 campers ages 8-17 while on the waterfront, including all water activities, equipment, and facilities. The Waterfront Director ensures that the Camp’s waterfront program and protocols are followed in compliance with the regulations for Department of Health and American Camp Association standards. They will provide a safe and nurturing environment for all and will be actively involved and have a positive attitude about all camp activities.
The Agassiz Village (AV) Driver creates opportunities for work/life balance for Agassiz Village summer staff members. They will be responsible for picking up staff from the bus or airport, driving staff off camp in the evenings and taking staff on excursions on their days off. The Driver will be responsible for planning the daily scheduling, advertising opportunities to staff members and encouraging staff to sign up in advance for opportunities. The Driver will encourage staff to take their breaks away from camp to rejuvenate and come back ready to work. The driver will arrange logistics, outdoor and evening activities, and sightseeing excursions. The driver may also be responsible for picking up and dropping off campers when needed.
